Lessons Objectives:
·         Reading – To use the title and pictures to predict story content. Read the Greek myth Icarus
·         Writing – To develop the ability writing a story of their own.
·         Art – To understand different styles of art.  
·         Vocabulary - Identify and use personality adjectives and practice spelling adjective



IMPORTANT: All the activities must be solved by hand.
Activities:
1.    Reading Task:
a)    Read and understand the Greek myth “Icarus”, then answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper.
(You can use your Reader Book or find out the story for kids on internet)
b)    Did Icarus fly to Athens?
c)    How did Deadalus feel at the end of the story? Why?
d)    Why couldn’t they leave the tower?
e)    Did Icarus understand the advice Deadalus gave him?
f)     Why do you think Icarus flew so close to the sun?
g)    Do you know people who do dangerous things nowadays, dangerous sports or other activities? Give an example.

2.    Writing Task:
a)    Relate the Greek Myth “Icarus” and write another short story based on it. (80 words at least) Use a separate sheet of paper.
3.    Arts: Cool Creations
a)    For artist topics, search images as well as texts and do a summary about it. (80 words at least) On a separate sheet of paper.
b)    Writing project: Wish Poem
-       Write 5 of your main wishes (use your creativity and do a frame for each of them)
-       Then give your reasons with extended sentences, use the linking words so that / because
4.    Vocabulary:
a)    Practice the spelling of the following words: artistic, creative, imaginative, logical, patient, sociable, sporty.
b)    Find the meaning in the dictionary, write their meaning in English, use that word in a sentence and do a drawing about them.
c)    Write and illustrate a short text about two members of your family that have the qualities mentioned.


Week 6
From September 25th to 28th, 2017

5.    Science:

(Solve the book exercise, if you do not have the book copy all in a separate sheet of paper)
a)    Solve the “Learning to Learn” activity. (Science book p. 12 and p.13)
b)    Remember what we studied during class, you can find out some of the answers on internet too.

6.    Science: Sensitivity and Coordination. (Science Book pages 14 – 22)
a)    Project #1 The Senses
-       Bring examples where you can use your 5 senses. Explain what happens.
-       Answer the questions: Imagine you can’t smell, what problems could you have? What if you didn’t have your sense of taste?
-       Write everything on a separate sheet of paper.
b)    Project #2 Nervous System
-       Make a Mind Map about the Nervous System. (Use your creativity)
-       Label the parts of a Neuron
c)    Project #3 The Skeletal and Muscular System
-       Identify the main bones and joints of the human skeleton in English
-       Identify the main muscles in the human body. Bring an illustration or “schema”
7.    Science PICTURE #2
(Solve the book exercise, if you do not have the book, copy all in a separate sheet of paper)
a)    Solve the “Learning to Learn” activity. (Science book p. 22 and p.23)

8.    Spelling
o   Write 10 homophone words with its English meaning.
o   Use the 10 words in 10 different sentences.
o   Write them on a sheet of paper.

9.    Listening
o   Listen to the story from the link below:
o   Solve the activities, there is a game and some documents to print.
o   Leave a comment in English and take a picture of it (screen shot) and send it to your teacher at  his Mail: teacher7rich@live.com.mx

·         Reading – Read and understand a modern fable.
·         Writing – Review the language from Chapter 1 and preview Chapter 2. Past Tense.
·                              Vocabulary - Identify and talk about the past achievements and future challenges.
·                    Science – Identify the characteristics   of the animals.


IMPORTANT: All the activities must be solved by hand.

Activities:
1    Reading Task:
a)    Read and understand the modern fable “Andy and the Grant”, then answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper.
(You can use your Reader Book)
b)    How does the landscape change each season?
c)    Did Andy help?
d)    What important information does Grant not listen?
e)    Why does Grant want to find the ants?
f)     Why can’t Andy help Grant?
g)    How does Grant feel?
h)    How does Andy feel?
i)      Is Grant happy he enjoyed the summer?

2.    Writing Task:
a)    Write a short summary about “Andy and the Grant” (50 words at least). Use a separate sheet of paper.

3.    Vocabulary:
a)    Practice the spelling of the following words: certificates, challenges, collage, competitions, fail, grades, pass, succeed, taking part, test, trophies.
b)    Find the meaning in the dictionary, write their English meaning, use those words in a sentence and do a drawing about them. (1 sentences for each word)
c)    Write and illustrate a short text about two members of your family that have those achievements mentioned.
4.    Vocabulary:
a)    Practice the spelling of the following words: baking, chess, Japanese, karate, photography, poetry.
b)    Find the meaning in the dictionary, write their English meaning, use those words in a sentence and do a drawing about them. (1 sentences for each word)
c)    Write about you in a text, mention your hobbies and the reasons you like them much (50 words at least)

ACTIVITIES:

5.    Science: Vertebrates and Invertebrates (Science Book pages 14 – 21)
a)    Project #1 Mammals are vertebrates.
-       Bring 3 examples of mammals. Explain its characteristics and illustrate them.
-       Write everything on a separate sheet of paper.
b)    Project #2 Birds are vertebrates.
-       Draw a bird on a separate sheet of paper and label your drawing with these words: beak, wings, legs and feathers (use your creativity)
-       Investigate about 1 Mexican bird you like. Bring information about it and illustrate it.
c)    Project #3 Reptiles and Amphibians are vertebrates
-       Bring a comparative chart about Reptiles and Amphibians. Say their own characteristics and illustrate it.
-       Write about the responsibility of owning a reptile or amphibian as a pet (50 words at least)
d)    Project #4 Fish are Vertebrates
-       Draw a fish and label your drawing with these words: bones, spine, tail, grills, fin and swim bladder.
-       Answer the following questions:
1.    Do fish sleep?
2.    What do they eat?
3.    Do they have names?
4.    Do they have teeth?
5.    Can you say 5 different fish?

6.    Spelling
o   Study the Unit 4 and 5 from the Spelling Book.
o   Solve the activity of sorting (on your book or a separate sheet of paper).
o   Use 10 words in 10 different sentences.
o   Write them on a sheet of paper.

7.    Listening
o   Listen to the story from the link below:
